He's kind of shy and really quiet, and a little bit cold to people but that's kind of his personality. He's very stoic and kind of a loner. However he talks to my friend during class and we THINK he flirts with her. One time she asked about their English notebook assignment and he was all "You better have it complete, Rebecca ;D." Only he didn't really wink, he just sort of smiled, which he rarely does. He also teased her rainbow boots. But he wears cowboy boots EVERYDAY as well as a cowboy hat. | Voting Question: Grandson with fever over a month. Can't find out why.? Details: 7 years old. Fever strangely comes in cycles daily. No fever on wakening but by 2pm he starts and it peaks over 102. At times it peaked higher and some days a little lower but average 102. Going on every day now for one month. Don't think it's environmental because he gets it on days he in school, on weekends at home and now the pattern continues while he's in the hospital since last week. He's had a ton of test: Complete Blood Work (only abnormal was blood count and Sed Rate that has improved with a repeat test). Had x-rays of chest and sinus. Ultrasound of heart and stomach. TB, Mono, bacteria blood cultures, urinalysis and stool for bacterias, parasites such as giardia. We are at wits end. He only vaguely complained with a pain under the rib cage on his left side. His spleen was palpated as was his appendix. Once during the last month he had a double ear infection, antibiotics and a followup when his fever didn't clear up. He also had a mild case of lice. He was on vacation in a hot tub and pool. Also his Dad went to Thailand but that was over 2 months ago. He also has a pet dog mostly indoor but is outside frequently. Much of this may not be a factor but since we don't know what it is I'm listing everything. Please only respond if you have something meaningful to suggest. We're pretty exhausted with speculation as you can imagine. UPDATE!!! Nuclear Imaging detects a problem in the lower left pelvic area. Doctor suspects an abscess or lymph node. He believes its an abscess requiring surgery. If it's a lymph node problem that could indicate cancer so our prayer is its an abscess. We'll know tomorrow after the CAT scan. A British lad who was raised in the streets he has been raised in such terrible conditions his mind began to rot thus causing him to believe that he is a turn of the 20th century London chimney sweep. Although, his skin is darkened by the smoke of chimney sweeping and he has contracted head lice and quite possibly black lung he remains with a thirst for life and is an adventure seeker in the form of pickpocketing. 2.) A chubby Cambodian Buddhist whose parents were tortured by the Khmer Rouge yet he continues to live a life of uprightness and spiritual truth. 3.) The daughter of a Mongolian coal miner whom before they gave her up to adoption being that a woman was not in demand for their coal mining industry all contracted black lung and died. She lives life on a crash course basis not knowing when she will snap when life doesn't give her the necessary lemons and she lives on the edge cause of it. 4.) The son of Indian Sheiks whose parents were violently bludgeoned by the Hindu-Muslim insurrection thus causing him to live his days from thereon after as a slum-dog. He recently found a couple of rupees on the floor and went in to see Slum-dog Millionaire and has a new life perspective for himself and is thirsty for a new home. I no way, shape, or form is this a mockery of the adoption process. I am dead on balls serious in the manner and what kids like these, so if you care to help or not that's on you. | Resolved Question: My husband kids have lice from his ex wife's house, and is now spreding to my children.. what can I do? My husband has 3 kids and I have 2. His ex wife is remarried and they continually get lice, which spread over to our house the days we have the kids... My children are now getting the lice to and I am wanting to put a complete stop to the lice problem. Its not fair to ANY of the kids to continually deal with a lice problem. My husband has gone as far as contacting social services about the lice problem, and they say there is nothing that they can do because they can't PROVE the lice comes from his ex wifes home. | Resolved Question: In resonse to the people who talked about men shutting down: My love has shut down 3X for years and it hurt.? We were in love for 3 years. w/o going into all the details as it would be a novel, we were together one day, and suddenly he just shut down & stopped communicating after calling several times a day. We talked of marriage and there was no pressure. When he stopped talking to me so suddenly like that, I went crazy, looking for him, and a week went by until I tracked him down only to ask him what in the world was going on. He was distant but said "nothing". It was a very painful time for me and I wound up in the hospital from this total "shutdown". Ran into him 3 years later on the street. He once again proclaimed his love for me, never stopped loving me, needed to sort things out, and wondered when he would run into me again. Since we split he had moved out of state. He was supportive during my mom's death, and took me to dinner where we first went for a date. it was very clear the feelings were still there, but I felt somewhat cautious. When I saw him off going to his now out of state home, suddenly, he had that distant demeanor again. He kissed me w/o feeling. He was just so matter of fact. When I started calling him again in Seattle after not pursuing based on the past, he would say he would call me right back and never did. It happened again. He shut down & I was bewildered and hurt as I was giving him another chance after awhile and allowed myself to become more vulnerable after awhile. Fast-forward 8 years later. A month ago he contacted me after almost a decade. I saw him once, and we both had aged 8 years~! and it took me so long to really stop the pain and being angry so even tho he called relentlessly, I didn't respond as he would have liked. One Friday when he wanted to see me, I fell asleep and told him if I woke up later, i would call him and we would have time for a hug before he went home (after his brother's funeral). I slept through the night, and didn't call until the next day and this time I invited him over and suggested we take a walk or go to dinner. Again, this was he first time in the last month that he did not call me back, and has not since that day. Shutdown X 3 only I believe that this time it was rejection on his part altho i wrote him a letter explaining to him why I was cautious in opening up to him (the shutdowns from the past). On New year's eve, I called him not knowing what to expect. I got him on his cell and he said, can I call you right back. Sounded busy. I paused because gut feeling told me he would not, but I chose to take him at his word and said yes, I'm at home. He never did call me back, respond to any of my E-mails or my asking him why he was doing this again, especially because when he was here, we actually talked about this issue and how it hurt me. Here today, gone tomorrow. He said he was sorry and yet he did it again? He's not a complete louse, really. He's actually a kind, giving man. But an emotional cripple or something. Would we be far from the recognized tourist sites by staying there?? Can Central Park/ Times Square etc be walked to from here? | Resolved Question: who is the worst, a customer or an employee? i'd say customers are the most horrible. no one at my work is too bad unless the customer is a jerk. i am really nice to all customers which doesn't stop them from being complete jerks to me. customers- one accused me of coming to steal american jobs.. pretty funny since i am american and i have a crappy job which i don't think anyone is fighting for. another said she was going to have me fired (because her order wasn't done early) but then decided against it because 'i bet she's in high school and needs the job' thanks ma'am!! various customers have thrown things at me and yelled at me when they didn't get their way. again, this is with me being very nice and attentive. not to mention the seemingly normal people who try to steal or cover bar codes with a bar code from something that costs a dollar. then those that are generally cheap and won't buy things unless they are practically paying nothing (expecting me to accept expired coupons, coupons for the wrong item, etc.. 'but the other stores do it!') general rudeness and talking down to employees. just because i work at a store doesn't mean i am less wealthy than you are or less educated.. another refused to have her prescription filled by the muslim pharmacist. (go somewhere else then. they're not going to magically have another pharmacist appear just to take care of your order) coming to buy lice shampoo with your lice ridden children. picking up items and letting them drop right on the floor when you're done looking.. getting mad when freebies are gone (as if i control this), yet wanting way over the limit of whatever other freebies are left?? the first kind is gone because of people like you, genius!! then there are some people who are downright cruel. i think cashiers can be snotty sometimes, but i've never met one who is cruel like some customers are. the worst thing i've done to a really mean customer is take her keys and hide them. then i let her find them two hours later. i don't regret it! haha i just read that too |
| Resolved Question: Is it ok to replace all the existing gravel/sand and tank water? 50 Gallon tank that I've had for little over 2 months...problem after problem and I want to remove all sand/gravel in it and replace with clean gravel but I don't know if the fish I have can handle it...This all started with my bro-in-law giving me a complete set up (no fault to him)...gravel and sand, driftwood, plants, lights, filters...I had a black moore three years old in a 10 gal already so I filled up the 50 got it running then put the moore in...everything was great...but I wanted to put in more fish so I got more fancies and a pleco..one got sick (a fancy) and I got medicated fish food and melafix, he didn't eat and died the next day...since then I've been battling anchorworm, fish lice, ich and ulcers. I have no experience with this stuff so I'm learning as I go and it's really starting to get to me, this morning I noticed fish lice and ich AGAIN and one fish has red veins showing in his fins! I just want to remove everything and throw away the nasty infested gravel and sand and get fresh gravel but that would require emptying the entire tank and putting in new water, will this stress out my fish too much? I don't want to lose anymore...also how high can I raise the temp with goldies, it's recommended at 80 to help kill the ich but I don't want to do that without knowing if that's too much for them... The tank was cycled when I got it, everything in it had been used for a couple years as tropical (that's y theres sand in it) I just kept what was in it and made it a goldie tank, it's just now I want to remove the old gravel and sand, is there a safer way to do that? Melafix isn't the only thing I've used since this has started, last thing was coppersafe for the anchorworms and it worked great until this morning... |
